Pharmacist
The Pharmacist is responsible for receiving, reviewing and interpreting physician's orders, dispensing medication to patients and cooperatively managing a team of Pharmacy Technicians alongside other Pharmacists.
Work is in a fast-paced environment primarily focused on compounding solid oral dose tablets and fulfilling orders for both in and out-of-state orders.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader seeking an environment that leverages technology and machinery, in addition to training and managing a team of 20-30+ technicians on any given day. Previous compounding experience is a major plus.
Pharmacists’ schedules are currently staggered to provide coverage for nights Mon-Fri, and 8am-4:30p on Saturdays. Sundays are currently OFF. Pharmacists rotate coverage on Saturdays and work together to ensure a balanced schedule for everyone.

· Review prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers
· Oversee compounding procedures and dispensing of prescribed medications for patient care
· Cooperatively manage chemical inventory and assess ingredients to determine identity, purity, and strength alongside fellow team members
· Provide consultation (primarily telephonic/virtual) to patients and customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and medication storage
· Supervise the maintenance and cleaning of the compounding environment, equipment, and tools
· Report out-of-specification observations, deviations, and modifications to the Quality Control/Compliance Officer
· Train other compounding pharmacy personnel on technique and procedures
· Conduct or supervise environmental monitoring (e.g. recording temperatures, checking incubator samples, as applicable)
· Actively pursue personal licenses in other states and remain in good-standing with the licensed states for non-resident pharmacy license.
· Ensures compliance with and remains current on USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards.
· Registered Pharmacist in good standing with each state of practice.
· Minimally licensed in Illinois. Additionally, it would be desirable if you are licensed in numerous other states or otherwise capable of passing exams in an expedient manner.
· At least 5 years of hands-on pharmacy experience desired.
· Ability to take point and assist a capable QA and Compliance team when inspections arise.
· Must be able to wear respirator and work with hazardous materials.
· Hands-on experience with non-sterile compounding preferred.
· Strong interpersonal skills for communication across all stakeholders regardless of title or position.
· Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as dosage calculation, formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and data analysis.
· Ability to define problems, collect, analyze data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
· Working knowledge of computer systems, including patient documentation systems.
· Creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial traits are a plus.
